Corner Warping

Medium to Fix

Corners of the print lift up from the bed during printing, causing warping and potential print failure.

What Does It Look Like?

Corners curling upward
First layer peeling from bed
Nozzle catching on lifted edges

Common Causes

Bed temperature too low
Poor bed adhesion
Cooling fan too strong
Thermal contraction of material

Solutions (Try in Order)

Start with Priority 1 solutions. Make one change at a time and test between changes.

1
Increase Bed Temperature

Warmer bed keeps material adhered

PLA: 60-70°C, ABS: 100-110°C, PETG: 70-85°C
1
Add Brim or Raft

Increases bed contact area

Brim: 5-10mm width, Raft: 3-5mm margin
2
Disable Cooling for First Layers

No fan for first 5-10 layers

Fan: 0% for layers 1-5, then ramp up
2
Use Adhesion Aids

Glue stick, hairspray, or specialty solutions

Thin even coat on build surface
3
Level Bed Carefully

Proper first layer is critical

Paper test or feeler gauge (0.1mm)
3
Use Enclosure (ABS/Nylon)

Prevents drafts and maintains temperature

Chamber temp: 40-50°C for ABS
Prevention Tips
  • Save working settings for each filament type
  • Perform regular printer maintenance
  • Keep filament dry and stored properly
  • Re-level bed before important prints
  • Start with manufacturer-recommended settings
